Signs worth checking
Visible blood in the urine should be investigated, even without pain. It has several possible causes and does not always mean cancer.
Screening and diagnosis
Decisions about prostate cancer screening take age, medical history and preferences into account. An abnormal prostate-specific antigen (PSA) result alone does not confirm cancer.
The next step depends on the diagnosis
If a tumor is found, its type and extent and your overall health are assessed to explain treatment and follow-up options. Bring any previous test results and reports to your appointment.
